Through an innovative adaption of the stategic ancient game of chess, the Renaissance Academy delivers fun training programmes geared to the age, ablity and aptitude of its young students.
Training programmes support government strategy and fully embrace the Every Child Matters government policy to help achieve better outcomes for children and young people.
The cognitive activity of chess playing can be enjoyed by all and contributes towards the mental well-being of players through training, social events and team play which encourages camaraderie and fosters social cohesion.
Central to our philosophy is the valuing of each student as a capable individual who can, if given the right environment, make a positive contribution to society. We teach transferable life skills which refocuses unproductive behaviours and short-term solutions in favour of adopting well thought out winning strategies, where skills and techniques aquired through education are valued and viewed as essential to success.
Defined policies and procedures are implemented by trained coaches to ensure children's safety.
